Makadi To Luxor: Important Information To Know

It is important to know that, for all foreign passport holders, departure times from Makadi to Luxor are controlled by the tourist police. The tourist police are very strict and do not allow out of hours transfers from Makadi to Luxor. Departures from Makadi are available from 05.00 to 16.30 only. Please note that foreign nationals travelling from Makadi to Luxor cannot pass through the police checkpoint in Safaga before 06.00. In addition, the tourist police state that foreign nationals must travel in a vehicle licensed for tourists. Therefore, all our vehicles used for foreign nationals are all licensed for tourists.

Transfers from Makadi to Luxor for Egyptian nationals are available 24/7. However, if there are any foreign nationals travelling in the group the rules for foreign nationals apply.

Makadi To Luxor

It is important to be aware that a travel permit is required for all foreign nationals travelling between Hurghada and Luxor. Additionally, we must arrange the permit with the tourist police 24 hours before you travel.  Importantly, to enable us to do this we must receive a clear photo of the photo page in all passports. Plus we will need all room numbers for those travelling. And, all documents should be sent to us on WhatsApp 48 hours before the date of transfer.

A 2 hour stop at Dendera is a great optional extra on a private, Luxor transfer. The temple is open from 07.00 to 17.00. However, last entry is at 15.00. Therefore, this optional extra can only be added to transfers departing Hurghada by 12.00. You are able to add this extra at checkout. Entry tickets not included. However, these can be purchased on site in the day. Dendera is an amazing temple!
